LG Smart TV (WebOS) Screen Mirroring - iPhone

NOTE: 2018 and earlier LG Smart TVs do not allow screen mirroring directly from iPhones. Select 2019 LG TV models (OLED B9, C9, E9, W9, R9, Z9 series, NanoCell SM9X/SM8X, and UHD UM7X series) with Apple AirPlay 2 support allow screen mirroring directly from iPhones.

If you have an LG smart TV that is not AirPlay 2 compatible, possible workarounds include:

    1. Third-Party Apps: certain apps allow screen mirroring from an iPhone to an LG Smart TV, including Video and TV Cast, Airbeam, Airmore, and Mirror from LG Smart TV Streamer Cast. LG doesn't guarantee third-party screen mirroring apps will work on all LG Smart TVs (some of these apps may also be used with Android phones).
    2. Indirect screen mirroring: this can be done from an iPhone to an Apple TV device, which in turn passes the mirrored content to an LG TV via an HDMI connection.

    Roku - Chromecast - Android

Note: Most streaming applications have a built-in cast feature. That includes Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube, among others. The following steps and screenshots detail the process for the Netflix Android application, but the process is generally the same for other streaming apps (although the interface might be slightly different).
    1. Make sure your Android phone and Roku TV or Roku device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
    2. Open the streaming app you want to cast from on your Android phone.
    3. Select the Cast icon  in the corner of the screen
Important:  In our example we're using Netflix, so we've made sure Netflix is installed on both our Android device and the Roku we're streaming to. And we're already signed into our Netflix account on both devices.
    1. When prompted, select your Roku TV or Roku device to begin casting. The streaming service app will then open on your Roku device to the content you wanted to cast. You can then continue to use your Android device as a remote control for choosing and adjusting content on your TV.

    Roku - Chromecast - iPhone

    2. Select your Roku Device
    3. Wait for your iOS Device to connect to the Roku

Once the app is cast to your Roku, you will see the app or its content on your TV. You can use your iOS device to control the app. You will also be able to control some settings like play and pause with your Roku remote.
    1. When you want to stop casting, simply tap the Cast icon on your iOS device again and tap "Disconnect."
