James, known on the app as @TexOutWest, began his fitness journey after a doctor’s visit revealed serious health concerns and a need for daily change. Starting with an indoor bike, he made major progress in his weight and overall wellness, eventually coming off cholesterol medication. Now, fitness has become a lifestyle focused on staying healthy for his family, supported by his favorite Sunny equipment and the connection he’s found through the SunnyFit® community.
Introduction
My name is James, more affectionately known on the app as Tex.
Question 1: What inspired you to begin your fitness journey?
What began my fitness journey is about 2021. I finally went to the doctor for a physical, and the results came back that I had high cholesterol and was on the verge of diabetes and heart disease. That was my first physical in probably 15 years.
In my 30s, I had ballooned up from 150 pounds to 190–200 pounds, and it wasn’t healthy. I looked like I was nine months pregnant. In fact, a lot of people joked about me being nine months pregnant.
Question 2: What does your current fitness routine look like?
I started out with an indoor bike and started exercising every single day for 30 minutes a day. I quickly dropped from 195 roughly down to 155.
Question 3: What does being part of the SunnyFit® community mean to you, and how has it supported or motivated your journey?
I love getting on and talking to people, communicating what’s going on, visiting with others, getting to know them, getting to hear their fitness journey as well. It is a community, and you get to where you enjoy talking to these people on the app and you miss it whenever you don’t get on. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know people on the app.
Question 4: Which Sunny Health & Fitness equipment do you use most, and how does it support your workouts?
As far as my piece of equipment I use the most currently is probably my treadpad, but I still go back to the mini stepper and the Row-N-Ride, among other things.
Closing Remarks
But it’s just an all-out journey. That’s what it is. It’s a lifestyle now to keep myself in better health for my family.
