What is better than a cool, refreshing drink on a warm spring afternoon? Smoothies are an excellent health food that pack tons of vitamins and minerals into one simple drink. And, depending on the ingredients you choose, it can be a great source of protein and healthy fats.

Smoothies can also be a good way to take in fruits and vegetables if you have a busy schedule and minimal time available for meal prep. Take it on the go for a healthy breakfast or have it ready for an afternoon snack when hunger strikes. It is an endlessly versatile and convenient food that can help boost your nutrition and satisfy your hunger. Here are some of our favorite healthy smoothies here at Sunny!

 

The Chocolate Lover

Chocolate Smoothie

The combination of berries and chocolate make this decadent smoothie one you will be craving all spring and into summer! Freeze your fresh berries ahead of time to take advantage of seasonal produce while also keeping your drink nice and cool. The oats add a healthy boost of complex carbohydrates and fiber.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 scoops of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 cup of mixed berries of your choice
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 - 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup milk of your choice (less milk will create a thicker texture and vice versa)
  • Cinnamon and Nutmeg to taste

  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1 banana, sliced and froxen
  • 1 cup of frozen mango
  • 1 cup of milk of your choice
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • Fresh Ginger, to taste

Fresh peaches are one of the BEST late spring produce options. Spin this popular flavor combination into a healthy treat!

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of peaches, sliced and frozen
  • 1/2 – 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 – 1 cup milk of your choice
  • 1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder
  • Splash of vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
