Claire grew up in Woodland, CA and first became interested in fitness at a young age. She grew up hiking with her family, getting involved in youth sports (basketball and soccer), and running cross-country and track in high school. She developed a passion for running as she became more involved in track and field, and eventually went on to compete as a DII collegiate athlete at California State University, Stanislaus. Claire continued running after her collegiate career and qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon in 2017. In addition to running, she also loves to stay active through hiking, yoga, rock climbing, and weight training.
While at CSU, Stanislaus, she completed her BA in Kinesiology, then went on to pursue her MS in Exercise Science at CSU, Long Beach. After graduating with her master’s degree, she started her fitness career in healthcare as an exercise physiologist, helping cardiac patients reach their functional and fitness goals. She is certified through ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and is an expert in teaching exercise for cardiovascular health. Claire is also a 200-hr certified yoga instructor, with experience teaching both Hatha and Vinyasa style yoga classes in the SunnyFit® app.
Claire’s approach to training is to be a guide to others on their fitness and health journeys, offer them expert and evidence-based advice on how to best meet their goals, and have fun while doing it! Claire is a big believer in exercise as medicine, using it as a tool to improve cardiovascular health, mental well-being, body composition, and so much more. There is so much life to experience and many adventures to have; being fit and healthy allows you to have the best experience possible!
