Elliptical Cardio Climber Comparison: In-Depth Guide

Elliptical Cardio Climber Comparison: In-Depth Guide

If you’re thinking of building out your home gym, have you considered a cardio climber? While most home fitness advocates opt for the standard when building their home gym - indoor cycle bikes, treadmills, or ellipticals - a cardio climber just might be the elevated workout experience you didn’t know you needed.

What is a Cardio Climber?

Cardio climbers are cardio machines designed to mimic hiking or uphill motion. If you’re looking for a crazy good full-body low-impact workout, cardio climbers are the answer.

Each stride is nice and smooth, similar to the striding feel you experience when using an elliptical. The set incline automatically ups your calorie burn and muscle activation during your workout.

Your entire body will work overtime - pushing and pulling to make your way uphill. That means your full body is working - your calves, hamstrings, quads, glutes, core, chest, back, shoulders, triceps, and biceps are at work!

These machines are great for an intense workout in a compact package. Since your movement is more vertical these machines take up a relatively small space in comparison to other workout machines.

Plus, they’re perfect for all users from beginners to advanced. We have tons of workouts to help you work up to a full routine on your cardio climber. And when you’re ready these machines have all the resistance you need to make your workout more challenging!

Is a Cardio Climber an Elliptical?

Yes, a cardio climber is a specialized elliptical that has a set increased angle. Each stride is nice and smooth, just like the striding feel you experience when using a standard elliptical. The set incline automatically ups your calorie burn and muscle activation during your workout.

FEATURES

The Performance Cardio Climber is our base-level model. This compact cardio climber was built with tight spaces in mind, so even if you’re living in a small apartment or don’t have much room in your home for workout equipment, this cardio climber will be a great fit!

It offers full-motion handlebars and non-slip footplates to make your climb feel comfortable and natural. This model also provides a few features to make your workout experience more enjoyable like a water bottle holder, device holder, and digital monitor to track your calories, time, distance, speed, and total distance.

With 8 levels of adjustable magnetic resistance, make your workout easier or harder with the twist of the knob. And trust me with these cardio climbers it gets spicy real fast with the incline and resistance combined, so you’ll be thankful for the option to take that intensity down too!

SIZE & FIT

The most important thing to keep in mind when considering a compact item like this one is will it be a good fit for your space, and those using it? First, check your space, this item is 42L x 23W x 60.5H in and weighs 69.3LB. You’ll want to be sure you have at least 1 foot of space on all sides of your machine when operating to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.

As far as if the climber is a good fit for you, this climber offers a weight capacity of 220LBs. You’ll want to make sure you fit within the weight capacity for the longevity of your product as well as a stable, comfortable workout experience.

This climber also has a stride length of 9 inches, and a combined climb height of 7 inches vertical, 5 inches horizontal. These factors combine to make a smooth stride. When it comes to the stride itself, this stride will offer a good fit for users on the shorter side, but for taller users, you’ll want to be able to open that stride for the best experience so you may be more comfortable on the Pro or Premium Climber.

FEATURES

Our Pro Cardio Climber is the perfect mid-size climber if you’re looking for a little more wiggle room during your workout, as well as some upgraded features. This climber includes all of the amazing features of the Performance Cardio Climber like the full motion handlebars, non-slip footplates, water bottle holder, device holder, and 8 levels of magnetic resistance.

With this climber, you’ll love the upgraded monitor that offers the option to track your heart rate with the onboard pulse grips. Your heart rate is such an important metric that can be used to monitor your effort to make sure you’re working hard enough on high-intensity days, but also light enough on recovery days.

SIZE & FIT

This mid-size cardio climber was built to accommodate a wider range of users with its larger size, capacity, and stride length in comparison to the Performance Cardio Climber. This climber is 46L x 26W x 62.5H in and weighs 88.2LB - so be sure to measure and check that it’s a good fit in your space.

This climber offers an upgraded weight capacity of 230LBs. As well as a long stride of 9.5 inches, and a combined climb height of 5 inches vertical, and 8.5 inches horizontal. The smooth stride has a super comfortable and natural feel that makes it fun to work out! The specs of this climber make it great for users of average height and below.

FEATURES

The Sunny Premium Cardio Climber is our top-tier model - and includes all the features you could want or need for an effortless, comfortable, and challenging workout! The Premium Cardio Climber is large and spacious, with our longest stride length to help you open your stride and feel nice and natural as you stride away. You’ll feel like you’re experiencing commercial quality all from the comfort of your home!

This climber includes all the other great features the other climbers have like 8 levels of magnetic resistance, pulse sensors, full-motion handlebars, non-slip footplates, water bottle holder, device holder, and transportation wheels.

With this climber, you get all the benefits plus a performance monitor that tracks time, distance, RPM, speed, calories, odometer, pulse, scan, calories, clock, and temperature.

SIZE & FIT

This large and spacious cardio climber was built to accommodate a wider range of users with its larger size, capacity, and stride length in comparison to the Pro and Performance Cardio Climbers. If you have a few people in your house planning to use this machine, the large size and stride will ensure a more comfortable experience for everyone using it!

This climber is 44L x 25W x 64H in and weighs 94.8LB - be sure to make measurements in your space and consider where you may be lifting the box into different rooms or levels in your house and plan accordingly.

This climber offers an upgraded weight capacity of 260LBs - making it our most sturdy, supportive, and durable climber available. It also includes a long stride of 10 inches, and a combined climb height of 9 inches vertical, and 5 inches horizontal.

With the highest vertical of any of our climbers, it offers the most challenging experience. And as someone who is on the taller side (5’8”), I can say that while both the Pro and Premium Climbers fit me well, the Premium Climber is the most comfortable, and my climber of choice.

Which Cardio Climber is Best for You?

With the above information, you have everything you need to make sure your future purchase is the right size for your space and will provide the workout experience you’re looking for.

To narrow down your choices from there, what I’ll leave you with is this: the best fitness equipment you can buy is one that you’re excited to use and work out on. When you’re able to be consistent in your workout routine, you’re able to consistently see results, and that’s what it’s all about.

So, choose the climber you’re the most excited about, and let’s get moving. Your Sunny family can’t wait to be a part of your journey!
